 Aim The aim of this website is to make freely available as much information as possible about the Audley Surname. As I am part of the 'Audleys of Liverpool' my personal aim is to link  all the Audley families in Liverpool together and to find where they were before they moved to Liverpool.

Accuracy of information The data contained on this website is as accurate as I can make it and where ever possible I like to identify the original source of the data. Please contact the website if any information it contains are incorrect. Due to the costs of purchasing birth, marriage and death certificates a number of the family trees have been created using the birth, marriage and death indexes only. If you have copies of any Audley vital record certificates I would appreciate the detailed information.

Audley Pedigrees by A L Reade  In the 1920s/1930s George Audley of Liverpool paid for A L Reade to research the Audley surname. As a result 250 copies the book 'Audley Pedigrees' was privately published. The book was originally published in 3 volumes and 247 copies ended up in various libraries in England and Overseas. The page of this website titled 'Published Information' contains a scanned copy of this publication.

Detailed information  The detailed information file for each of the families on the family tree page contains a detailed narrative of the family together with supporting evidence such as birth, marriage, death & census information. In the smaller families the detailed information is contained in the same file as the simple family tree.

Family Trees. The family tree page of this website lists the Family Trees that are being investigated by the contributors to this website. All the Family trees being investigated link to one of the chapters in the publication 'Audley pedigrees' and in particular Chapters 8, 14 and 20.

File formats All the real data on this website is in the form of pdf file. I have used this file format as pdf readers are freely available and therefore anyone can use this web without the need for special software.

Simple Family Trees  On the Family Tree page of this website all Audley Families have a Simple Family Tree. This is a simple family tree listing the names of all the people in the family in the simplest way I can find indicating the period they were alive and their relationship to other members of the family. In smaller families the simple family tree may be combined with the detailed information into a single file.
